Aurora Starr



Aurora was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, but moved to England after her first birthday. She is of Fillipino, English and Welsh decent (with rumours of Italian and French from her Grandmothers side) Aurora loves to indulge in all cultures and takes inspirations from all over the world.

Aurora grew up in the suburbs of South London and through her teens always had an interest in dance, acting and outrageous outfits. She has modelled for websites, clothing lines, adverts and promotional campaigns but during her time at University and gave it up for her studies for the next couple of years.

In her first year of University a friend introduced her to the Leeds University Circus Skills Society. It was the surrounding of friendly people and encoruagement that started her love for all things circus. By Second year she was on the committee, and in third year she and some of her circus friends started their first troupe 'Surefire Circus'. Despite leaving Leeds University with a BA Honours Degree in Philosophy, Aurora chose to work as a self employed circus performer running the Surefire Troupe and has continued to train and work in this field. She has picked up many skills over the last 3 years and is always looking for new costumes, props and inspirations to help make her artistic vision come to life. Aurora now runs the Surefire Circus Theatre Company with business partner James Guiver and aswell as a solo career. Aurora currently works primarily in London, but travels across the globe for burlesque nights, festivals, corporate events, motor shows, conventions, clubnights and private parties and also as part of a number of different troupes.
